Summer is officially here!
We are now definitely
feeling the heat, and there is nothing more to do but to find ways to quench
our thirst and get our energy juices revved back up.
Here is another treat for
us to potentially beat the blazing heat that the summer brings!
“DIRTY” ICE CREAM
This is the Filipino version of the common ice cream made from Carabao
or coconut milk and comes in various flavors such as chocolates, mango, ube,
“buko” or coconut, and cheese, served on a cone, a cup, or even a soft bun.
Don’t be deceived by the name. The word “dirty” refers to being
homemade, as opposed to the branded ones that are commonly made in factories.
And this Pinoy ice cream can be seen being
peddled on the streets by a sorbetero (Filipino
Ice cream vendor) all day, pushing a colorful cart, and calling out people
by ringing a small bell in their hand.
